Pleasant Valley Needs Your Help!
January 12th, 2010 Posted in M09, M10, NewsApparently a special interest group centered in Hope Valley has filed a lawsuit that aims to force the Pleasant Valley Fly Fishing Preserve property owners to open the property to general public access for hikers.
As enforcement of Pleasant Valley’s catch and release policy would be very difficult to enforce if the suit were to succeed, it could result in a devastating blow to the preserve and possibly cause the property owners to cease operating the stream as a catch & release fishery.
Counsel for the property owners are interested in talking to individuals who may have fished Pleasant Valley Creek back in the 1970s & 1980s prior to the establishment of the preserve.
If you’re one of the folks that fished Pleasant Valley Creek back then we would love to hear from you. If you happen to know of anyone that may have been fishing the creek back in those days please let them know about this effort too. At this point we are only collecting contact information and we must submit the list of names by January 18th so please let us know as soon as you can.
You can submit your contact information (Name, Address & Telephone Number) along with the time frame you were probably fishing the creek at The Angler’s Edge, or by calling the shop at 775-782-4734. If you prefer e-mail please send your information to don.w@theanglersedge.com.
Thank you in advance and a heart felt thank you to the High Sierra Fly Caster’s for their continued support of Pleasant Valley Fly Fishing Preserve over the years.
