Tribe Seeks Input on Changes to Pyramid Lake Regulations

NIXON, NV, 12/20/11: The Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe is seeking public input on proposed changes to the Pyramid Lake Regulations. For the past several months the Tribe has been working with interested parties to make changes to the regulations in order to improve the recreational experience at Pyramid Lake. The proposed changes make modifications to the existing permit fee structure; implement discounts on permits; and make other changes to improve the recreational experience at Pyramid Lake. The Tribe is seeking comment on the proposed changes to the Pyramid Lake Regulations from December 19, 2011 to February 2, 2012. To request a copy of the proposed regulations changes, please call the Pyramid Lake Tribal Office at 775-574-1000. Comments on the proposed changes can be submitted by mail to the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe attention Tribal Secretary PO Box 256 Nixon, NV 89424 or submitted by e-mail to scarey@plpt.nsn.us. Comments received from the public during this period about the proposed changes will be reviewed and considered by the Tribe. 2012 Valley Steelhead Tour

Greg Vinci and Lance Gray are hosting two-day tours of Sacramento Valley river steelhead fishing locations, focusing on the American and Feather rivers. Volunteers Needed for Adopt-A-Highway This Saturday

The Alpine Watershed Group is looking for a few more volunteers for its Adopt-A-Highway cleanup day this Saturday, November 12. Rich Harvey will be the team leader. The plan is to meet at the Markleeville Library at 10:00 a.m. and it usually takes about 2 hours.
